Our Mission

The Verbal Behavior Special Interest Group (VB SIG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and an officially sanctioned Special Interest Group of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). Its purpose is to support the advancement of verbal behavior research and treatment approaches. The VB SIG endeavors to provide institutional, financial, and scholarly support to those interested in studying verbal behavior.

Membership is open to researchers, practitioners, parents, academicians, and others with a vested interest in the analysis of verbal behavior from a functional perspective from a variety of disciplines. We welcome new members who share our interest in a behavioral approach to the study of language. The VB SIG is governed by the VB SIG Board of Trustees (the “Board”).
